Basina
Spend a day by Basina’s small bay near Vrboska, or include it in a longer cycle through Hvar’s coves and the Stari Grad Plain.
About the destination
Make the bay your destination
Basina is a small coastal settlement and bay on Hvar, close to Vrboska. Plan a visit around swimming and time beside the water rather than a tour of the whole island. The shoreline offers both natural and paved bathing areas: take a little time on arrival to choose an entry into the sea that suits your group. Bring water, sun protection and something comfortable for the shore. A simple plan is to spend the morning at the bay, pause for lunch and leave the afternoon open for another swim.
The Vrboska Tourist Board describes access by car, bicycle or boat. Check its Basina beach information before choosing your approach, and ask your host about the final access to your accommodation if you are staying here.
Add a ride through the island landscape
For a more active outing, the official 705 cycling circuit links Vrboska, Basina and the Stari Grad Plain. Its full length is 16.3 kilometres and includes asphalt and unpaved sections; it is a separate excursion to plan, rather than a short paved promenade beside the bay. Review the route description, choose a suitable bicycle and carry enough drinking water. You can also keep the visit simple and return to Vrboska after your beach stop.
