Draga Bašćanska
Explore Draga Bašćanska’s inland valley, watercourse and Glagolitic landmarks, with walking choices and a quieter base behind coastal Baška.
About the destination
Get to know the valley
Draga Bašćanska lies inland in southern Krk’s Baška valley. Its settlement grew from smaller hamlets beside cultivated land. The greener valley floor and the Vela Rika watercourse, locally also called Ričina or Suha ričina, sit below bare limestone slopes. Begin with the village lanes and fields to understand this inland side of the island.
Follow the Glagolitic landmarks
The official Baška Glagolitic Trail guide identifies a letter sculpture by the bridge near Nebija. It also explains the valley’s milling history and the surviving Podkrasac mill in Draga. Follow the guide to locate these features.
Choose a valley or mountain route
The Baška outdoor guide distinguishes the route between Zarok and Draga from climbs onto the surrounding rocky heights. Choose a valley outing for a shorter visit, or plan a separate mountain walk with suitable footwear and water. Check wind and weather before heading onto exposed slopes. Baška’s beach and Jurandvor’s heritage sites are separate stops farther along the valley.
Plan a meal and an overnight stay
Use the regional restaurant listings, which include Mošuna in Draga, to plan a meal. The official agency directory includes IGEN in the village and other Baška-area agencies for accommodation enquiries. Specify an inland Draga address if that is where you want to stay. For a concert or local celebration, choose the venue and date in Krk’s events calendar.
