About the destination
Explore the village and its heritage
Dragove looks towards a coast dotted with Tatišnjak, Veliki and Mali Planatak and Magarčić. In the village, look for the parish church of St Leonard; the Nativity of Mary shrine lies nearby. The official village guide also records Roman remains below Dubravica, adding an ancient layer to the story of this small settlement.
Make Veli Žal a separate outing
Veli Žal lies southwest of Dragove on the other side of the island, facing the islet of Mežanj and the open sea. A visit pairs well with a village walk, but the beach is outside the centre. Plan the road journey and time on the shore separately, with supplies for the beach and footwear suited to the route you choose.
Plan your island arrival
The Zadar Gaženica-Brbinj ferry is an arrival option if bringing a vehicle. From Brbinj, continue to Dragove by road. Choose your accommodation before arranging the final leg so your host can give precise arrival directions. The hillside village and a waterfront or beach address are different destinations.
Stay locally, explore for meals
The official accommodation directory includes Dragove and gives you a starting point for an apartment stay. Use the island restaurant directory for meals in the wider area, noting each settlement: Gorgonia, for example, is in Verunić. A quiet evening around the village fits a local stay; a restaurant elsewhere adds a return journey. Arrange church or shrine interior visits locally if you want to include them.
