White Water-Lily Boardwalk through the wetlands of Kopački rit Nature Park.
About the destination
Begin at the visitor centre
Kopački rit lies in the floodplain where the Danube and Drava meet. Water levels shape its lakes, channels, reed beds, wet meadows and floodplain woods, so the landscape changes through the year. From the Kopačevo reception centre, follow the White Water-Lily educational walk toward Sakadaš Lake and the boat quay. The park describes this as a roughly 20-30 minute walk, with interpretive boards and places to pause. It is a useful choice if you want a self-guided introduction to the wetland habitat.
Choose a boat trip for the reserve
To travel farther into the Special Zoological Reserve, reserve the park’s guided boat excursion from the Sakadaš pier. The trip lasts about 45 minutes; the programme also includes an exhibition visit and the educational walk. Boat places must be booked with the visitor centre, where tickets are collected before departure. Check the park’s current schedule and programme before travelling, since water levels shape this floodplain. Even with a boat booking, allow time for the on-foot route: it gives a different view of the same changing wetland.
