Choose your sandy shore

Lopar occupies Rab’s northern peninsula, separate from historic Rab town farther south. Rajska plaža is the best-known sandy beach, with developed visitor facilities. More remote coves have different approaches and fewer services. Choose your beach by the walking route and the facilities you need, carrying water and sun protection when heading beyond the developed shore.

Read the landscape and sea stories

The Lopar Geopark guide introduces marked geological points and the peninsula’s unusual eroded forms. Pick a marked walking route and leave fossils and rocks in place. For another part of local history, ask the tourist board about a visit to Čovik i more, the interpretation centre devoted to the relationship between people and the sea.

The official arrival guide distinguishes the Valbiska-Lopar ferry from Krk from the Stinica-Mišnjak approach on the other side of Rab. Match your crossing to the onward journey.
