About the destination
Explore the village first
Lovranska Draga lies on Učka’s eastern slopes, inland from Lovran and Medveja. Its rural houses, meadows and old agricultural terraces make a rewarding short walk before you enter the woods. The Lovran tourist board’s village guide explains the chestnut-growing landscape and paths connecting the mountainside with the coast.
Follow the Slap trail
The park’s Slap walk passes chestnut groves, oak and hornbeam woodland and terraces once worked for crops. The destination is a waterfall in a torrential valley. Its flow is intermittent and can disappear in dry weather, so the woodland and landscape are part of the outing even when there is little water. Choose settled weather and suitable ground conditions; heavy rain is a reason to postpone the walk.
Choose your longer route
Other paths lead uphill into Učka Nature Park or downhill towards the sea. These involve a different effort from the village stroll: descending to the coast also leaves a climb or separate return journey. Decide whether you want a short Slap outing or a mountain walk before setting off.
Lunch on the hillside
The village guide lists Konoba Lovranska Draga for traditional cooking and Draga di Lovrana at Lovranska Draga 1. A planned meal gives you time to enjoy the village after the trail. If choosing a hillside overnight stay, plan the journey to Lovran or Medveja’s waterfront separately; this is a rural mountain setting above the coast.
