Walk Mandrač and the old peninsula

Begin beside the fishing boats in Mandrač harbour and continue through the compact old town. Sections of medieval walls and the sea-facing loggia frame the coastal walk, while the parish church of St Pelagius and its freestanding bell tower mark the centre. This is Novigrad-Cittanova on Istria’s west coast, with heritage and sea views close together.

Spend time in the Lapidarium

The Lapidarium Museum preserves stone monuments from the town’s long history. Look for the late-eighth-century ciborium of Bishop Mauritius, originally associated with the parish church.
