About the destination
Begin in Premantura
Premantura is a village at Istria’s southern end, with its own squares, lanes, restaurants and places to stay. Start in the centre and consider the Kamenjak House of Nature eco-centre before setting out. The village is a base for the surrounding landscapes; Lower Kamenjak’s rocky shores and coves lie beyond it.
Choose Upper or Lower Kamenjak
The Gradine educational path begins near the village entrance on Upper Kamenjak and introduces natural and historical features of that landscape. For Lower Kamenjak, the dinosaur trail at Cape Grakalovac is another specific walking choice. Choose a route and a cove rather than trying to cover the entire peninsula in one visit. Carry drinking water and prepare for exposed, uneven ground.
Plan the protected-area outing
Use the public institution’s arrival information for the approach from Premantura and its current motor-vehicle entry arrangements. Walking and cycling are alternatives to driving. Follow the visitor rules: keep vehicles on marked roads, use designated parking and leave plants undisturbed. Use an established shore access for swimming and take account of wind and sea conditions.
Eat and stay in the village
The regional food guide introduces black cuttlefish risotto, crab dishes, pasta and Istrian olive oil. Return to Premantura’s restaurants for a meal after your outing. Compare a village hotel such as the officially listed Premantura Resort with nearby Arena Stupice camping; campsites are outside the protected cape. For music or a village celebration, select Premantura and your dates in the Riviera event listings.
