About the destination
The boats of the sabunjari
Privlaka’s sabunjari made their living extracting sand from the sea. Fishing and this demanding trade shaped the village’s relationship with the water. Stari porat, the old harbour, belongs to that working coastal history.
Sandy shores
Selo, Mostina and Sabunike are among Privlaka’s named beaches. Selo lies by the small harbour, bringing bathing and the older maritime village close together. The sandy coast is one of the area’s defining features.
Wells and paths towards Nin
Away from the shore, the surviving wells include Sokolar, while St Vitus’s church adds a historic landmark. The cycle route towards Nin takes in St Vitus, Sokolar and the Sabunike viewpoint before returning towards Stari porat.
