About the destination
Sukošan lies around Zlatna luka bay southeast of Zadar. Walk the older streets and waterfront, then choose a beach or a sailing excursion according to the day’s conditions. D-Marin Dalmacija is a separate marina area, not a stand-in for the whole town.
Stay
The Sukošan Tourist Board lists rooms, apartments, holiday homes, campsites and hotels. 2Olives House is one Sukošan-town holiday-home option at Dr. Franje Tuđmana 85; check current availability directly. The municipality also includes nearby settlements, so verify the exact address before booking.
Eat
Local konobas and restaurants are part of Sukošan’s appeal. The Zadar Region Tourist Board specifically recommends traditional tavern food. For a meal in town, see Griblja at Trg Ruševac 4, Konoba Kod Guste at Rudina 10, or Matanovi dvori at Dr. Franje Tuđmana 135. Check each venue’s current menu, season and reservation details directly before visiting.
Explore
In the old centre, look for the Church of St Cassian. The remains of the former archbishop’s summer residence, known as Palac, stand on a small island in the bay. For a beach day, consider Dječji raj or Makarska Beach; check access, facilities and swimming conditions on the day. The waterfront and marina have different characters, so allow time for both rather than treating the marina as the town centre.
Evenings
The local calendar includes summer concerts and community events, while the regional tourist board mentions a drink at Portus Beach Bar in the marina. Check the current tourist-board programme and each venue’s opening times. Plan a waterfront drink or a summer concert around the programme for your dates.
