About the destination
Explore the lanes and murals
Begin around Narodni trg and follow Vodnjan-Dignano’s narrow streets, covered passages and stone palaces. Small churches and contemporary murals give you different reasons to look closely at the façades. The historic town is inland; Peroj, Barbariga and the coast belong to separate parts of the wider destination.
Visit St Blaise
The parish Church of St Blaise has the largest parish-church ground plan in Istria and a 61-metre bell tower. Its sacred-art collection preserves religious artworks and relics. Allow time for the church and collection, and check visiting arrangements with the parish. Ask separately about climbing the bell tower.
See how a kažun is built
Beyond the centre, olive groves, vineyards and dry-stone walls define the countryside. At Kažun Park, different construction stages explain how the traditional stone shelters were assembled. It is a useful introduction before walking farther into the landscape. Use the official olive-oil producer directory to arrange a tasting and connect the groves with local production.
Choose dinner and an inland base
The food and drink listings help you find a konoba, pizzeria or restaurant; compare the address with your planned route. Search the Vodnjan accommodation listings for a stay near the town, or deliberately choose a rural property for the surrounding countryside. For an evening concert, exhibition or community event, select the place and date in the official calendar.
