About the destination
Walk the old centre
Vrbnik’s houses cluster around the bell tower above a steep coastal cliff. Follow the narrow lanes and small squares through a town shaped by the Frankopans and a strong Glagolitic tradition. The vineyards on the approach belong to the same story: this is both a historic town and a wine-growing landscape.
Explore its written heritage
The museum guide points you to the former Count’s Palace on Placa Vrbničkog statuta. Here the Vitezić Family Library, Neda Trinajstić’s ethnographic collection and the memorial printing house offer different ways into local history. Ask the tourist office about visiting the collections so you can combine an interior visit with the lanes around them.
From vineyards to the table
Žlahtina, the local white wine, is a good starting point for a tasting. Choose a producer from the official winery list and arrange the visit directly. The visitor directory also brings together restaurants, hotels and apartments. Staying overnight leaves time for a meal and an evening stroll after your tasting; plan onward travel without driving after drinking.
Choose your beach
Zgribnica combines a pebble beach with paved sunbathing areas below Gospoja park. Potovošće is a separate cove outside Vrbnik. Choose between a swim close to town and a dedicated beach outing, remembering that the return to the old centre is uphill. A beach-level address and an old-town stay offer quite different daily walks.
