Treat these as alternatives rather than automatically combining them. Compare your accommodation with each beach entrance on a map. When you only have part of a day, settling into one bay usually gives you more swimming time than walking between two, packing up and finding somewhere to put your things all over again.

Let Pokonji dol shape the day

The tourist board places Pokonji dol about a kilometre and a half from the centre, accessible on foot along the coast or by car. Choose it when swimming is the main event and lunch or a break can fit between dips. Check which food options are operating on your date. Nearby restaurants do not mean you need a package or reserved lounger. First decide whether this is the bay where you want to spend most of your available time.

Use Vela beach for a town-and-sea combination

Vela beach lies in front of Amfora and is reached by the town’s coastal promenade. This option makes sense when swimming needs to fit around a later meeting in the centre. Distinguish the beach itself from hotel facilities, pools and nearby clubs: their access arrangements are not automatically the same. Decide what you actually want to use, then check the terms and cost of those particular extras rather than assuming that one service includes everything around it.

Give the Pakleni Islands a separate day

A bay attached to Hvar town and a Pakleni Islands trip are different plans. The islands require transport and a return arrangement; this day revolves around one beach and your own pace. If friends split into swimmers and coffee drinkers, choose a clear meeting point before separating. Once you are back in town, decide whether dinner or another walk sounds appealing. There is no need to add a reservation simply because your itinerary still has an empty space.
