Rovinj in three frames: an old-town photo walk
Balbi’s Arch, the climb towards St Euphemia and photographs with your own idea behind them.
Jump to a section
Start with a small challenge
At Balbi's Arch, agree to find three different photographs without copying each other: an architectural detail, a wider view and a portrait. This gives your old-town walk a purpose while leaving room for discoveries. A phone is enough; the useful part of the exercise is paying attention, not carrying more equipment.
Take Grisia at your pace
Follow Grisia towards the Church of St Euphemia at a pace that suits the group and the weather. Keep doorways clear: people live and work here. Ask before photographing work inside a gallery. When a lane gets narrow or crowded, put the phone away and look for another frame further on.
Finish by choosing
Take a comfortable route back rather than trying to cover every street. Over a break, show just your favourite image and explain your choice. The bell tower and church interior are separate options with their own access arrangements. This walk does not require you to buy a ticket for every extra stop.
