Before you go

Plan a night in Zadar after day one and a night on Dugi Otok after day two. You need a car or prearranged island road transport for this north-and-south route. Check the exact ferry ports, vehicle booking and return sailing before accommodation. If connections do not fit, choose just one end of the island or add a night.

Day 1: Stay in Zadar

Old-town walk

Begin with the old town and Roman Forum, then take a lunch break. Keep the afternoon free of ferry connections; today is for the city. Check the next day’s crossing and island transfer before evening.

Sea Organ

Finish the walk beside the Sea Organ. Listen to the changing sound and leave time to sit by the water. Stay overnight in Zadar so the island crossing has its own part of the following day.

Day 2: Cross to Dugi Otok and explore the north

Veli Rat Lighthouse

After the confirmed crossing and road transfer, make the lighthouse your main stop. Allow for getting off the ferry and reaching this part of the island. Enjoy the setting from the permitted visitor area; do not build the visit around unconfirmed tower access.

Sakarun beach · Optional

Stay in the northwestern part of the island and add Sakarun if the beach conditions and your transport allow. The bay is known for its light sand and pine-lined setting. Check the current approach before driving there, then return to your booked island accommodation. Do not add Telašćica tonight; it has its own day.

Day 3: Telašćica, then the return crossing

Choose a park walk

Travel to Telašćica and choose a marked route using the current visitor information. Focus on one section around the bay or Lake Mir that fits your remaining time. Check this park’s own admission; a Kornati excursion or ticket is not automatically the same visit.

Along the way: Set a turnaround time before starting the walk. Include the drive back to your actual departure port and the operator’s required arrival margin. If the return is too early for a proper park visit, skip this day’s walk or stay another night.
