Museum of Apoxyomenos
The Museum of Apoxyomenos occupies Kvarner Palace on the waterfront at Riva lošinjskih kapetana 13. Opened in 2016, its permanent exhibition centres on one ancient bronze sculpture: a young athlete cleaning his body after exercise.

A closer look
Recovered from the seabed near Vele Orjule in 1999, the statue underwent six years of restoration. The exhibition traces that journey through contrasting spaces before the encounter with the athlete in the White Room. A final room looks out over Mali Lošinj harbour.
The visit combines archaeology with contemporary exhibition design. Check the museum’s visitor information for current admission arrangements before travelling.
