Walk the old town

Bale-Valle is a compact inland town in western Istria. Its stone lanes lead through the former fortified core towards the Gothic-Renaissance Soardo-Bembo palace, parish church, crypt and loggia. Make time for the countryside

Olive groves, vineyards and traditional stancija farmsteads spread beyond the centre. A producer visit or rural meal works well after the town walk; arrange a tasting directly so that you have time to hear about the oil or wine. Walking and cycling outings extend into this rural landscape, so choose your distance before setting off.

The accommodation and services directory brings together hotels, private rooms and apartments, family farms, restaurants and bars. Stay near the old core for an evening on foot, or look towards Mon Perin’s coastal camping area for a sea-based holiday. San Polo and Colone lie several kilometres from Bale: allow a separate journey for the shore and compare that distance when choosing where to sleep.
