About the destination
Explore the stone village
Dol lies in a sheltered valley inland from Postira on Brač. Start with a short walk through the historic village, where stone houses, courtyards and roofs laid with stone slabs follow the terrain. Look at the reddish, rough-textured hrapoćuša rock and the openings in the surrounding slopes; homes and agricultural spaces remain part of village life.
Make time for hrapoćuša
The village’s best-known food tradition is hrapoćuša cake, named for its resemblance to the local stone. It belongs to Dol’s celebrations and family recipes. Make a tavern meal part of the visit and ask about the cake when reserving if you would like to try it.
Separate the village and the coast
Small churches in and above the settlement add to the rural landscape. Choose a short village circuit or a longer countryside walk according to the terrain and your available time. Postira’s harbour and beaches are a separate coastal stop; arrange the journey between the two rather than treating Dol as a seaside neighbourhood.
Choose a base and an evening
The Postira-area accommodation guide is a useful starting point for rooms, apartments and other stays. Compare an inland address with a coastal base if you want both village walks and swimming. For a cultural evening, consult the tourist board’s regional programme, paying attention to whether the venue is Dol or Postira.
