About the destination
Karlovac: a day between the old town and the rivers
Start in Zvijezda, the historic centre, then leave room for a walk by the river. Our suggestion is to give the centre a relaxed half day, or keep a full day free if you want to add Dubovac and an indoor visit. These are editorial planning estimates, not measured walking times.
Choose your second stop by mood: Dubovac for a different view of the city, Aquatika for freshwater life, or the Nikola Tesla Experience Center for an indoor change of pace. Treat Dubovac as a separate part of the outing and plan the journey there; do not squeeze every attraction into one short stop.
Arriving without a car? Check which station your service uses: Karlovac and Karlovac Centar are different stops. The tourist board’s arrival guide covers rail, bus and road access. Verify your actual service and return journey before leaving.

Time to allow
Give Zvijezda and a riverside walk half a day; keep a full day for Aquatika or Dubovac and a meal. These are editorial estimates. Choose one major extra stop before setting out instead of squeezing the rivers, castle and every museum into one short visit.
Without a car
The official arrival guide covers rail, bus and road access. Karlovac and Karlovac Centar are different railway stops; check which your service uses and the onward walk. Verify return travel before adding a stop outside the centre.
Arriving by car
Use the tourist board’s parking guide, then follow the zone and payment signs at your chosen space. If your main visit is Aquatika or Dubovac, check the arrival information for that venue separately. Do not assume one city-centre space serves every part of the outing.
Rain, heat and a change of plan
Aquatika or the Nikola Tesla Experience Center can anchor a rainy day after an opening-hours check. In heat, choose a shorter river walk and a long break. A riverside path is not a statement that swimming is permitted or suitable at that location.
