Kaštelir
Kaštelir brings together a village walk, countryside paths and visits to local wine producers north of Poreč.
About the destination
Between vineyards and olive groves
Kaštelir and Labinci have grown together among vineyards, olive groves and fields. A walk through Kaštelir can easily become a visit to both villages, with a stop in Labinci before heading into the countryside.
The church and its older bell tower
The Church of Saints Cosmas and Damian was built in 1908. Its detached bell tower is older, dating from 1869. Inside the three-aisled church are three wooden altars; outside, the 30-metre tower is the landmark to look for as you approach.
Out on the village paths
For a longer walk, Nigrinjansko blago starts beside the cemetery in Babići and passes Tadini and Mekiši. The route description will help you choose a stretch that fits the rest of your day.
A stop at a winery
There are wine producers in Kaštelir and the surrounding villages. Choose a winery along your route and arrange a tasting directly. It makes a pleasant final stop after a walk, provided someone else is doing the driving.
