About the destination
Choose your island base
Pag is more than the town that shares its name. Give its different settlements their own time: plan separate outings for a heritage walk in Pag town, a visit to Novalja and a walk among the olive groves of Lun. Choose accommodation around the places you most want to see, then check how you will travel between them. A waterfront address does not mean every island attraction is nearby.
Follow salt and lace in Pag town
Begin at the main square and the Church of the Assumption, then continue through the town’s stone streets. The salt-production exhibition and Gallery of Pag Lace offer two ways to understand local work and craft. Check their current opening arrangements before planning an interior visit, leaving time for the waterfront between stops.
Give the north a separate day
In Novalja, the Town Museum introduces local heritage and the ancient water conduit known as Talijanova buža; ask the museum about current access. The olive gardens at Lun offer another focus, with old trees and a cultivated landscape to explore according to visitor guidance. If you want nightlife, consult the Zrće club information and the clubs’ dated programmes. Choose your event and return transport before booking; do not assume the summer programme runs throughout the year.
Taste the island and plan your arrival
Look for sheep-milk Pag cheese, local lamb and baškotin, the sweet toasted bread traditionally made by Pag’s Benedictine community. The tourist board’s food guide provides context; confirm menus and tastings directly.
You can reach the island by road over Pag Bridge or by the Prizna-Žigljen ferry. These are different approaches, so match your route to your accommodation and check current road and sailing information before departure.
