Give the town its own walk

Start in the protected historic centre and explore the side streets around Mala Gospa Square before following the waterfront. Above the town, the remains of Turina offer another perspective on the setting; the city’s heritage guide places the fortress above the old centre. Treat the climb as an additional walk and wear suitable footwear. If your park visit is the main commitment, save this town circuit for the following morning rather than rushing both.

Choose your journey to Krka

Skradinski buk is a separate national-park destination. From Skradin, the park entrance guide describes a seasonal boat service and a walking/cycling trail of about 3.4 kilometres from Skradin Bridge. Check current services, admission and the return journey before setting out. The approach trail is additional to the waterfall visit, so include both in your distance planning. Choose the boat if you prefer to reserve your walking time for the park itself.

Plan the bicycle return

Krka’s trail information says bicycles must be left near reception while you explore the waterfall circuit. They are not carried on the boat back to Skradin. If cycling in, plan to cycle out along the same approach route, and share the trail considerately with walkers. This makes the return arrangement worth deciding before hiring a bicycle.

Stay for the food

Ask about Skradinski rižot, a local speciality known for its lengthy preparation, when choosing where to eat. Check availability and whether advance notice is needed. A night in town allows a meal and an evening walk after the park; when booking, confirm parking and the walk from your accommodation to the departure point.
