About the destination
Begin around the harbour
Start with the riva and the stone lanes behind it. The official Sutivan guide places the village on Brač’s northwestern coast, with pebble beaches continuing west. A harbour circuit gives a useful introduction before choosing a longer coastal walk. For a swim, select the section nearest your accommodation or carry what you need for an outing to a further cove.
Look for the village landmarks
The local history guide connects Sutivan with the Kavanjin family mansion and its tradition of country residences. Look also towards the waterfront Church of the Assumption and St Rocco above the village. These landmarks make a walk through the façades and small squares more rewarding. The preserved seaside windmill tower adds another familiar feature; enjoy private residences from public lanes unless a visit has been arranged.
Ride the winds of Brač
Sutivan’s cycling information introduces the Levanat, Maestral and Tramuntana routes, named after local winds. Compare distance, terrain and ascent before choosing a loop. The maps also point towards services aimed at cyclists, useful when arranging hire or a place to stay with a bicycle. Ride inland through olive-growing landscapes, then return to the waterfront for dinner.
Plan the island connection
Use the tourist board’s arrival information to connect your crossing to Brač with the journey to Sutivan. If arriving via Supetar, include that onward transfer when booking. A central address suits harbour meals and village walks, while a place farther west may bring you closer to a preferred beach. For a short stay, combine one local day with one selected route; check the dated event programme if you want music or another evening activity.
