Gradski muzej Novalja
Gradski muzej Novalja introduces the heritage of Novalja and northern Pag through its archaeological and ethnographic collections. The museum building stands above the entrance to a Roman aqueduct carved into the rock; part of the underground passage is open to visitors.

A closer look
Finds from the Caska area include Roman pottery, a model of an ancient boat and a preserved wooden Roman anchor. The archaeological display also presents amphorae from a shipwreck in Vlaška mala bay and finds connected with Novalja’s early Christian basilicas. The Roman aqueduct extends for about 1,050 metres, but a museum visit covers only its accessible section; the museum provides the required safety equipment.
